ArenA BoulevardEver since the Amsterdam ArenA opened in August 1996, the Amsterdam Zuidoost Centre has been developing rapidly. A great deal of work has been put into creating a new town centre in the Netherlands: the ArenA Boulevard. Look around and you will see that a new part of the city, including a breathtaking skyline, has in fact risen around the Amsterdam ArenA. The NeighboursThe boulevard is defined by the ArenA's neighbours, namely the Pathé ArenA multiplex, the Heineken Music Hall, a variety of megastores, the Villa ArenA home furnishing shopping centre, high rise office buildings, cafés and restaurants. Together with the renewal of the Bijlmermeer neighbourhood, the development of the ArenA Boulevard is one of Amsterdam's most ambitious projects to day. FutureCranes and scaffolding will continue to provide the decor up until 2010 at the earliest. In 2008, the new Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA train, metro and bus station was opened and connects the ArenA areas with the renewed Bijlmermeer neighbourhood and shopping centre 'De Amsterdamse Poort'. More informationThe ArenA Boulevard has all the ingredients of a place to be. Here, you can work, shop, live and go out. Plus, it's so easy to reach by car and public transportation, and there is plenty of parking and easy to follow signs in and around the ArenA area. The ArenA Boulevard is set to become a dazzling hot spot where sports, entertainment, culture and events will attract millions every year.
