Who owns the Amsterdam ArenA?The Vereniging Van Eigenaars Amsterdam ArenA consists of the Municipality of Amsterdam and Stadion Amsterdam NV. The Municipality of Amsterdam (Parkeergebouwen Amsterdam) manages the Transferium and the other car parks. The limited liability company acts as owner of the stadium and the main building. This is leased to Stadion Amsterdam CV, who manages the complex. Stadion Amsterdam Exploitatie BV (a full subsidiary of Stadion Amsterdam NV) acts as the managing partner in the limited partnership, which consists of eight major companies who are the sleeping partners. Each company paid € 2.27 million (Philips paid twice that amount) and are referred to as founders. The money was not contributed as share capital but as “sleeping capital‿ in the limited partnership. Founders have a number of rights, including the right to use a lounge, which accommodates 10 and has a view of the pitch, exclusive publicity rights and the first right to supply goods and/or services. What is the maximum capacity of the stadium?During football matches, the stadium has more than 51,628 seats. During concerts, the pitch is also used. The maximum capacity depends on the configuration of the event. For example, the stadium is at peak capacity when the stage is set up in the middle of the pitch and can hold a maximum of 68,000 visitors.
